I have known this family since I was a little girl, I was truly blessed to be given the opportunity to capture their beautiful growing family.
To spend time with them brought back so many memories, as a young girl I remember looking out their living room window staring so hard into the night sky to find santa and his sleigh. I grew up with this amazing family and I just love you all!
We did the session at their family home so close to the mountain which provided such a beautiful background. A lovely day...with wind of course...but we live in Wyoming!

What a GORGEOUS wedding! I can't say enough about this amazing couple, so in love! Despite the beautiful bride Kim and her lovely bridesmaid Brittany were ill the day of the wedding we made the best of the situation and in the end the wedding day was truly unforgettable! The beautiful emotion of this day shinned through and it all started with the look on Kim's fathers face when he saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. And as I looked around the sanctuary and saw all of the happy tears flowing as Kim and Brent read there vows to one another. It was truly apparent to me that nothing says "Love" more than that. They were truly breathtaking! You will see what I mean when you look through the sneak peek and the emotion of the day that I can't wait to show more of! I love the month of September!! It is such a beautiful time for a wedding and this last weekend and the Mitchell wedding was no exception! The venue was GORGEOUS!! A beautiful bed and breakfast on Casper mountain situated at the top of a beautiful valley that over looks the town. One word "STUNNING"!!! And the bride and groom Cathy and Lou where most certainly the icing on the cake! What a lovely day for a wedding and these two have so much love it just oozed out of them. Taking Chance....A True Life Story

Today I am sharing with all of you something truly special. I am going to add a link here to my sister-in-laws beautiful blog. Not only she is sooo...talented and makes the most beautiful dolls but she is much better at explaining such a powerful and moving story of a soldier from Dubois, Wy. Chance Phelps. It is a movie made for HBO based on a true story of Lt. Col. Mike Strobel (played by Kevin Bacon) who volunteered to escort this brave soldier Lance Cpl. Chance Phelps back home to Dubois. I want to share this story with all of you so that if you have the opportunity to watch this movie, please do. It will pull at your heart strings! My Baby Girl Is 3!!

My baby girl McKenzie turned 3 on Super Bowl Sunday, I just can't believe how quickly they grow! We had a wonderful dinner for her birthday at "Sanfords" and McKenzie's Aunt Coy drove all the way up from Fort Collins to Celebrate her special day.

She is our tomgirl with that little girl flair, she loved her "Cars Cake". She also loves anything that has to do with "Buzz Lightyear" and since she received "Buzz" for Christmas we had to get her "Jesse" from Toy Story 2 to go along with it. I searched high and low for this doll!

Benjamin is such a special little guy he is 6 months old now, and we are so happy he is doing so well after his surgery. For those of you that don't know Benjamin had been suffering from seizures and he recently underwent surgery to help him. And I am so happy to report he is doing great!! He is so ADORABLE!! My nickname for him is "Benjamin Button" and those beautiful blue eyes! So sweet! I am so happy I get to capture his growth.

Alright I have so many posts to catch you all up on that I must combine them into one post. First of all I must apologize for the delay in getting these up but it is important that I share a sneak peek from all of the sessions that I have had the opportunity to capture. I hope you have a little time to read and observe because I truly am far behind! I still need to share some photos from the Wheeler Wedding that I had the distinct pleasure to capture on December 20th, so keep an eye out for that post to!

First I will start with the Osborne's So much love from this amazing family and I really can't thank them enough for ALL the love and support they have and continue to give. I am truly blessed to have so many amazing people be apart of my amazing journey! These photos are of Becky's side of the family we had so much fun and I was just thrilled we had a little snow. Now mind you it truly has been so long since I have posted on the blog these where taken right after Thanksgiving!

The Sy Family I love this family and they are so beautiful and full of life. You will always see a lot of photos of this lovely bunch! They always plan the holiday photos around preparing for Christmas and love to have photos in there home in there setting, strike up the fire and put up the tree! I just love to incorporate families homes into there photos as it makes them a little more personal. And we always get photos of them playing in the snow, we always have so much fun!~ This year there beautiful schnauzer had a liter of pups so we took some photos of the new addition to the family as well. Thank you Sy family so much for your continued support of Special Moments Photography!

Next I will share some photos from the Chen Family, ohhhh....what a delight this group was! I am so happy I was asked to come into there home and photograph this beautiful group of people. We had so much fun! This would be little Owen's (above) grandparents, great grandmother and extended family who where all able to come together for the holidays. I was thrilled to be able to capture such an important time in there lives.

And now for the Lee Family we had so much fun these 2 boys where such a delight, what a beautiful family you are Lee's! Thank you so much for giving Special Moments this opportunity to capture you! We where able to use the NEW charcoal grey backdrop, and I just love the colors it brings to the photos. At the beginning of December I was asked to go to Fort Collins, Colorado to capture some photos for a commercial photo session. These photos will be used on a web site to help promote these lovely purses that are sold by Sparkles4U. Thank you so much Meri and Jenny what a FUN time we had in downtown Fort Collins. Almost Happy New Year everyone! I thought I should try and do a little catching up today. Now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday's are coming to an end an so is 2008. The Beautiful Chadwick family christmas tree at my mom and dad's

My handsome nephew Trevor, Beautiful and adorable McKenzie and my handsome son Dakota. I took several photos of the grandchildren as a gift for my parents as they celebrated there 39th wedding anniversary on December 20th, all of us got them a BEAUTIFUL 20x24 gallery wrap to hang in there home.
Dakota, he got an ipod for Christmas, I just love the expression on his face. He was so excited!

And McKenzie, her idol "Buzz Lightyear" I have never seen a child so young love a toy more than she loves him!

This is my amazing and loving father Forrest.

And my sister Coy and her son Trevor, you know the best thing I love about what I do is seeing the tears of joy my work brings to people, that's what I strive to accomplish. In October I was able to capture Trevor and I had a coffee table photo book made for Coy for Christmas.
And last but not least McKenzie on her John Deer tractor that Santa brought for her, can't wait till it warms up so she can ride it more!

This time of year things tend to get away from me and before I know it I have gotten myself in a pickle and don't have time to capture my kiddos. Every year I try my best to send pictures to all of our family and friends along with a little letter to let everyone know how our year was. That and it's important to me that all of our friends and family know we are thinking of them this time of year. With that being said I don't want to share the photos I have picked to put on the cards, or it just wouldn't be the same. So I will share a photo of the kids and our loving dogs Lundy and Kai. What a circus that was! Nothing like trying to capture a hyper Jack Russell, a 9 month old Rotty that acts like the 2 year old and neither one of them will cooperate and a bossy 13 year old who tries to control the situation. Let me tell you it's a great combination! But I Love them all~ I was going to capture the chaos and call it "A day and a life in the Miller family". lol...I know we can't be the only ones right?

So I have been so busy all summer that I have not had a single moment to capture McKenzie at all, she is growing up before my eyes! Dakota's birthday was on August 17th, so every year we try our best to take a vacation the weekend of his birthday. That's usually when we try and take our vacation. This year we went to Denver, it down poured the entire weekend! But despite all the rain we had the best time! My sister and Butch came along, we visited the Denver Zoo, the Butterfly Pavillion and Dave and Busters. Stayed in a hotel did some swimming and watched the Olympics. We had the best time! I have so much to catch up on! I found out this morning that little guy Benjamin, one of the most precious newborn's I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of needs some prayer. His beautiful mother and wonderful father Becky and Isaac recently found out that little Benjamin has been suffering some seizures. They had to fly him to Denver to be told that he may have to have surgery before the age of 3, I just love this family so much and it pulls at my heart strings to know they are going through this with there beautiful first born. I have been taking pictures of him since he was still in the womb and I just love you all! Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as little Ben and your family work through the years ahead Becky and Isaac, God is watching over him.

Ron DePaolo Memorial Open

On Saturday I had the distinct pleasure of covering one of the greatest events created in dedication of an amazing man , Ron DePaolo. This golf tournament was started several years ago by the determination and love for the sport Ron had for golf. After his recent passing Automation Electronics made it there goal to carry on this tournament and rename it "The Ron DePaolo Memorial Open" in his memory. I personally had the pleasure of knowing Ron and his amazing family. When I was asked to cover the tournament and take photos of the teams as they came around hole 9 at the Three Crowns Golf Course in Casper I was honored to be asked to be apart of this amazing event. Thank you to Automation Electronics for giving me the opportunity, I look forward to doing it again next year! Thank you to Three Crowns for giving me the beautiful view, the warm conditions and the cool golf cart to stay out of the sun for the day. And last but not least Ron's family, you are always in my thoughts and in my prayers. Much love and blessings, Shannon.

I finally get to share a photo of my loving, supportive and AMAZING husband Shawn, he's the one in blue he worked so hard at helping to bring the tournament together. Along with him from the left are Nick, Danny and Ed.

Of course I had to not only include a photo of the only women's team of the day but also a member of the committee, Danielle also in blue. Then from the left Jodi, Molly and Nichole.

And Bob on the left, a member of the committee as well. Then on his right Jody, Mia and Mike. So many people worked so hard on this amazing tournament and I can't post all of the pictures but also a special thanks to Holly and Jim you know you are special to! As are all of the people, sponsors and busiesses who helped in making this tournament a success!!

This is Alex and what a great young man you are Alex! Your parents sure are proud of you! You have the best attitude and out look on life and you will go so far! I had the best time capturing this amazing senior last Tuesday, we went all over the place.
